  • “Modern Egyptians have basically zero connection to the pyramid builders.”
  • “Today’s Greeks are not the same people who invented democracy or philosophy.”
  • “The French have almost nothing in common with the Gauls who fought Julius Caesar.”
  • “Most Mexicans aren’t really descendants of the Aztecs.”
  • “Indians today are totally unrelated to the people who built the Indus Valley civilization.”
  • “The Chinese are not the same as the people who invented gunpowder and paper.”
  • “Iranians have basically nothing to do with the Persian Empire anymore.”
  • “Japanese people today are completely disconnected from the samurai era.”
  • “Native English speakers have almost no relation to the Anglo-Saxons.”
  • “Russians aren’t actually the same as the Kievan Rus’ who started it all.”
  • “Most Turks aren’t real descendants of the Ottomans.”
  • “Spaniards today are basically unrelated to the people who conquered the Americas.”
Bonus ultra-lame variants people actually say unironically:
  • “America in 2025 has nothing to do with the Founding Fathers’ vision.”
  • “The Catholic Church today has almost nothing to do with Jesus.”
  • “Modern Judaism is totally different from what Moses was doing.”

yeah. you know you got it bad when even chatgpt can do you dirty with 1 low effort prompt

and these people think they are making some profound point with this, lmfao.

the moron i m referring to itt made it even worse by adding a bunch of quickly googled history facts to the post when i'm 100% sure he d have a hard time locating italy on the blank map of europe

to make it worse, he did that to a guy who literally originates from emilia romagna and who (even though this is probably not too positive) knows codex iustinianus almost by heart, on top of being familiar with the intricacies of the roman empire in each of the 4 phases of its development

daily tf am i doing here moment, i guess
