conscientiousness/'willpower' is strongly influenced by genetics per scientific studies. interestingly, it's been shown to either be uncorrelated or slightly negatively correlated with intelligence 

i skimmed through the paper and there were zero mentions of genetics/genes. it is also based on self reported personality tests, so the whole thing is a load of bullshit of just misusing statistics to find random correlations between meaningless numbers and pretending it's science
