they probably want to attract the attention of white knights. women are manipulative and know how to make men do what they want: 'poor women, we need to save them by supporting their cause'.
they are also narcissistic so they think the whole world will be shocked if it sees women in 'danger' (tied up). which is actually true because most western men are white knights
