yeah but that artifice is getting pretty advanced these days. soon enough, even if it lacks real intellect, itll be able to mimic it so well we wont know the difference. and when it comes to running things, does it really matter if its genuine or just really good at pretending?
were already seeing ai make complex decisions in finance, healthcare, etc. pretty soon, those decisions will start affecting everything from who gets a job to who lives or dies. besides, even if ai doesn't have true feelings or understanding, it can still manipulate us because we're so eager to project human traits onto machines. it's like we can't help but see AI as having intentions and emotions, even when it doesn't tbh
