as unreal as it sounds, he completely lost it when he didnt win the user of the year "award" 

everyone thought he was just temporarily pissed off and/or trolling, but he turned into a bitter toxic subhuman full of vitriol and stayed like that until he left the forum

not sure if his nice guy shtick was just that, so he lost his cool, or did something happen in his life that, combined with other minor annoyances, pushed him over the edge
