it's not a gun issue, it's a race issue:

this 2015 study says USA had 12 times higher firearm homicide rate than other high income countries

Yet, the firearm homicide rate among the US white population was still over 12 times higher than the firearm homicide rate of the other high-income countries and the non-firearm homicide rate (0.2 per 100,000 population) was twice as high.

Also the rate of firearm homicide triples in high gun states.
