a modern child can figure out on their own, that religion, and especially Christianity is an utter scam. 

Those who cannot discern this at a young age suffer from serious indoctrination, low iq, or are severely mentally weak to the point where they will cling to any belief thrown at them to cope with the immense weight of their miserable existence. The church promises to take care of all your sorry worries like your overwhelming fear of death and what comes after.
