I've noticed the same with the old pc at my parents house (bought in 2005), it barely runs these days. And also the HP laptop I posted the other day (I rarely use it), it barely runs and often shuts down.


Pretty much yeah, just a few weeks ago the acer laptop that I've used since I was 3-ish completely died out on me. 

Started with the hard drive, fixed that. Then the speakers had a crunch to it, whatever. Few weeks ago and now it just won't charge. Assume it's the battery issue since that beast dies out basically instantly while being unplugged. Not sure if I can find a replacement for the battery so I salvaged the ram sticks and the hard-drive and placed them elsewhere. Then retired it in some cupboard.

It's a shame, I love playing with all my older tech, certain nostalgic feeling.
