a big thing in this country is tall poppy syndrome. like people are legit prideful about living on the poverty line in dilapidated shitholes and make it a core part of their identity. do they think it makes them seem more humble or something? there's nothing wrong with making the best of a bad situation, but people here self delude themselves so hard. "i don't want a mansion, i would be just fine with a bus to live in!"
it's the same thing as what you're saying i guess but instead it's financial incompetence. could you imagine crossing paths with a hobo and they mumble some bitter nonsense about how people who live in houses are actually the real losers? it doesn't just happen
i feel like a fucking golem when i stand next to a normgroid. couldn't imagine being a room full of them and thinking "yeah, i mog these guys so hard they don't even browse /pol/ or shitty forums" i have made half arsed attempts in the past to form relationships, like irl ones, but i always fuck it up and it's always my fault for being a fucking retard
