Mold never goes away, they just grow back after a while

I'd look into getting the room professionally sanitized before switching out your stuff.

yeah, if something gets visible mold on it now i just throw it out. idk if the room itself is moldy, but it's possible because it used to have a major leak before everything was ripped out
