He didn't create another religion though, the first "Christians" were all Jews, but as Christianity expanded to all the non Jews, following Jewish law was no longer necessary. ( Non Jews and converted Jews need not follow Jewish Law ).
Today, you can still be a Jew whilst believing in Christ and the Trinity
