My English is pretty good even relative to where I live though, I read alot of books and consume alot of western media, especially cartoons when I was young.
Though my parents still talk to me in my native language Tamil and my friends speak Chinese while my national language is Malay.
I wish I put more points into Mandarin rather than English.

english is still the most versatile language there is and likely to be the global language (technically is), that is if we continue moving towards a globalist world. and there's always a market for ESL in foreign countries or interpretation so you can always fall back on that, provided you can speak the language just as well
also are most indo-malays from that tamil nadu region? i guess it makes sense considering proximity.
