Humans are the same way. If you put them in an environment that causes them extreme stress, then they respond by killing themselves. The solution is to avoid extreme stress (stress that overwhelms), and to strengthen yourself through enjoyable stress (an enjoyable activity that is both challenging and rewarding) in order to develop a stress tolerance.

Also, just a FYI, virtually all forms of argument and logic can be deconstructed and proven wrong.
Just as 1+1=2 can be refuted, by the logic of one water drop combining with another water drop to create one, larger water drop.
