Did you know that tarsiers commit suicide in captivity? This is because they are in an environment that causes them overwhelming stress.
Humans are the same way. If you put them in an environment that causes them extreme stress, then they respond by killing themselves. The solution is to avoid extreme stress (stress that overwhelms), and to strengthen yourself through enjoyable stress (an enjoyable activity that is both challenging and rewarding) in order to develop a stress tolerance.
