'no one can be rational. everything is about dominance'
'you can never really argue rationally with someone, you are only trying to dominate them by proving yourself correct'
sure, no one can be 100% rational megamind robot machine - but in the context of human interactions, how can you claim no one discusses a topic to gain a better understanding? or that no one ever argues, not to win the argument, but to test their own ideas? and that submitting during an argument can occur completely shamelessly if you accept your opponent had superior rational ability/ was privy to more extensive knowledge than you had?
my only conclusion can be that anyone saying this (and actually believing it) has an extremely weak rational ability
if you say this, all youre really telling everyone is that that is how you yourself think.
you probably also then accept arguments that appear the most dominant, just to dominate others.
you probably see 'knowledge' (true or not) as a means to an end, not an end itself.
