girls love posting these kind of photos

just saw a tiktok where this girl was like "when your boyfriend knows how to dress himself," and its him in an ugly color loro piana polo shirt. Like that garment is exactly the perfect one for this trend. they get to signal three things:

1. endearing infantilization of masculinity (i.e. teehee no thoughts behind those eyes cutedumb mascboy nonchalance but he can dress himself teehee like even when he talks smart and says smart things hes still looking into the distance with this detached look teehee")
2. the brand is high value, so signalling wealth
3. maybe high quality, but not necessarily actually an elegant garment (this would make him seem too sentient and not infantile enough, as genuine aristocracy does not aestheticize infantilism in that way. he would seem too "overthinking," and i dont mean overthinking as in a early 30s 5'10" guy getting a bespoke suit looking in the mirror with his chin up and pulling his waistcoat over his ever so slightly skinnyfat belly and thinking he's the boss now, but having any attention to detail at all)
4. its a polo shirt so its  more coded masculine than say, a button down shirt, and has his chest popping out ever so slightly (you know she went through 100 pics of this to make sure his body pops in exactly the right way) as to signal its presence but not actually look like his chest is "trying" to get out

this would all be opposed, for instance, to a muted color silk cotton very slightly oversized button down shirt  from The Row. It is still masculine but in comparison to a black polo shirt would seem ever so slightly cosmopolitan and elegant and make his masculinity seem less like a nothoughtbehindhiseyes ickless cutemascdumbness and more like ahighpedigreearistocraticbuteversoslightlysentientandmaybeevenmanipulative one.

Your clothes need to have the perfect mix of idiocy, masculinity, quality, and value and only subtly display your total lack of attention to detail. details are for the girlies Gymcel

Its amaazing, inspirational really, the subtle but ceaseless psychological artillery women bombard men with to mold them into their fantasies.
