people dont give takebacks at chess after a mouseslip?

since people here say they play online chess maybe they can answer this

do they think this is actually an acceptable thing to do?

say you are playing chess irl and you drag a piece and it slips out of your hand or sth and try to correct it

do you think the other guy should tell you no you can't move it now and declare himself a winner?

because I'd 100% smack the other guy in the face for wasting my time if that happened to me

so why does that happen online all the time?

my second point

engaging in multiplayer games is a horrible use of your time

the crushing majority of people are worthless selfish garbage

that's what it is, like it or not

you might as well try cutting your wrists with a razor blade, if that's what you are into

theres no such thing as honour, just fear of committing what is established as dishonourable

IRL, there is fear of serious verbal confrontation which is difficult to escape, online, not so much

humans just want to win, and all which it depends on what they'll do, is how much fear is in the way. theres no goodness or kindness in competition of any sort. even the ostensively "casual" sort.

true to some extent but I don't fully subscribe to this breakdown of human behavior

it seems a bit lazy, there's a lot more going on, for sure

well in the case of online gaming theres also the fact that estrogenic cucks chase status thru rating cuz irl they get 0 respect or attention. seeing a free chance at +elo is just an insane dopamine spike they cant give up

Yeah that probably it

I value good time over rating points tbf

Might as well cheat if all you care about is some fancy numbers (which they probably do, whatever)

most cageworthy moment is when they resign after losing their queen

or asking for a draw when all their pieces are gone

but yeah mouseslip is such a bad reason

It becomes easier to notice a bad move when you move your figure

Irl you can at least see what was the case, but online it's like asking for another life, so if you are playing for any kind of points, no matter how pointless, you cant expect some random to give it to you
