To answer your question, no one had any idea what happened to the site up until now, not even mods who knew Admin’s real name, with people speculating from it going offline from fears of government enforcement to Admin just forgetting about it because he got another girlfriend or something like in 2019. With this information it seems to be the latter.

I knew since late June of this year that Admin was still alive because I tried buying the domain and it got autorenewed, which meant he got charged owning it. At the end of the time Lookism was online in 2021 Admin had already not posted in months, his last threads before this praising China in comparison to the West, working for a top 50 STEM institution and learning Russian and moving to Russia (Kazan or St. Petersburg for example). That same year a couple months before going offline long term the site went offline in the same manner for two days. And many of us know that before this the site was offline or Admin was absent for multiple months at least twice in 2019 because he got distracted with life. Therefore I assume that he did this time as well, during which the site went down again in his absence, and when he came back just decided to cash out and get rid of the burden of being its owner.
