It feels like everything I say in them is like a magic spell
Unfamiliar strings of sounds and syllables that produce effects in the world
Like I go to the restaurant and I ask, in Croatian, that I want a sandwich.
I mutter a string of incomprehensible syllables, and as if by magic, my words move the body of the clerk as they give me the sandwich.

yes I do this too, for example when people ask me for directions I sometimes respond by quoting vedic verses in sanskrit. I say what I want to say, do they hear what they want to hear? I'll let the universe decide.

Knowing foreign languages is such a failo tbh
Brb instead of learning something useful like science or math om going to learn how people communicate in a country where I don't live thousands of miles away where and where they probably speak English conversationally anyway
