No idea
I easily quit weed and benzos Alcohol is simply too cheap and readily available and the urge doesn't really go away. If anything the urge to drink is stronger after taking a break I'm gonna quit for at least a month though starting in a week, only because my liver hurts like hell

Even if you were locked up, you would not automatically lose the desire to drink, if you are a serious alcoholic. As long as your alcoholic life is tolerable to you or 'better' than you imagine the sober life, why would you fix anything?
Alcoholic anonymous probably works only for people, who already have the desire to quit before they walk into their first meeting, and I'm convinced most alcoholics do not have that desire.

You would consume mountains of mashed potato, kilogram of honey, kilos of sugar, and so on, while you attribute all blame to your damn addictive personality disorder. They just use it to earn more money or they don't know that alcohol by itself is a problem.
