as you said, it's mostly europeans and shitskin obsessing over it, so there isn't as much hype when it's played outside of europe, specially in different time zones and specially in countries where people couldn't care less about football (is it even in top 10 sports in the US?)

also, the new forced cringe changes (fucking 48 teams on a supposedly best-of-the-best competition + competition being held in multiple countries) failo it hard. it's supposed to be 32 team in 8 x 4 groups, with max 2-3 exotic countries as competitors. who the fuck cares about uzbekistan - congo tier matches?

at least usa is better than qatar and south africa, though, those felt so off

personally, i m less enthusiastic about it simply because i aged and i ve seen enough of these (and football games in general) to stop really caring. though, there are millions of middle aged manchildren out there whose lives still revolve around identifying with football/sports teams. funnily enough, this can also be associated with the themes of psl forums because most of them are IWMs (incels within marriages)
