I realized the secret to happiness is to identify your insecurity and make connections with those that are the opposite

The big problem is that people naturally resent those, who have skills or privileges they would like to have, so out of pride they avoid those unlike them and seek other losers.

If you are a nerd full of sexual insecurities, the person you need to make friends with is the chad, who has had easy access to females since he was 13.

If you are a person, who can't talk to others, you need to find the charming salesman type.

If you are lazy and sloppy, you need to find the person, who is highly ordered.

This sort of applies to romantic relationships, but I'm thinking about more ordinary connections or 'friendships'.

Cause usually these type of people have something to learn. For example, the ultra jock will like the ultra nerd in many cases. First, because he does not see him as competition. Second, because the nerd usually has some kind of knowledge or understanding over areas, that the jock lacks. Third, because the nerd might validate the jock and make him stand out more. Vice versa, the nerd is strenghtend by being connected to the chad.

It is bascially common sense, but I bet many people avoid actively seeking these kinds of connections, because of PRIDE and INSECURITY. It requires putting rationality over emotions. And leaving behind ideals.

Does the inverse apply

I'm a complete subhuman but I'm willing to teach chad my ways

People are so prideful. They never give the subhuman a chance but they don't know they could learn a lot

These connections can form naturally, but do they come to its full effect and are they used strategically? I don't think so, cause it requires overcoming shame and pride.

A fat girl may not want to be around a thin girl, cause she would rather not be reminded of being too fat, yet she could benefit from the association with the thin girl socially. This only works, if the fat girl also has something to offer, maybe ability to relax, courage and extroversion. So that answers your question in the post before.

Now, this basic bonding is common sense, but it goes against the thinking of an insecure, narcissistic person, who would rather avoid being around those that are in any aspect superior to them.
