How?
Except generally wanting to get back to a normal weight, i have an extremely important wedding to attend in 16 weeks. I'll see almost everyone I care about there, plus, the people whose wedding I'm attending are already trying to set me up with every girl they invited that's not single or married, because they know I'm not dating anyone. Considering all this, I just can't show up there like a fat clown.
It isn't even about being positively perceived there, because it's not really such a relevant event and will be forgotten by both me and everyone else in a week, or impressing women with my appearance since there's a million other ways to meet them; the problem is i'll really lose all confidence in my willpower if i just let myself go again, like i've been doing for almost a decade now.
So far, I've got:
- supressing my appetite with SNRIs
- completely stopping with alcoholism
- fixing my diet (shouldn't be that hard if I succeed with the first 2, i'm only overeating when 2 l of wine kick in)
- starting to take daily walks, and then switching to running as soon as I feel capable of it (i've just recovered from a knee/ankle/calf injury that crippled me for 3 years and i'm almost 30 kg overweight, so i can't just start running 8 km per day like i used to when i was in normal shape)
What else?
- pushups and other bodyweiight exercises are cringe and ineffective
- gym is gay

Water fasting!
The big argument for it is that it is the most natural way to lose weight, our ancestors were nomads and had occasional periods or even lengths (think winter) of next to zero caloric intake, in fact, everything good about say a ketogenic diet stems from the natural mechanism of fasting.
Fasting puts the body into a state of mental focus and shifts your body closer to a natural, healthy equilibrium, imagine your body using every tool it has evolved all at once, in fear of impending starvation.
Fasting was so common back then, that many natural mechanisms, like autophagy and even cleansing of the entire system of health, including repair of the immune system, are tied to it, hence modern humans being unhealthier despite constant caloric surplus, even if your diet is good, it's like we only use half the tools in our swiss knife set of tricks for physical and mental excellence.
It also reverses the cells' inner age clock.
tldr; you'll feel like a champion high on confidence, mentally sharp instead of sluggish like from simply eating less, and the health benefits will last you a life time.
protips:
eat only raw, so fruits and vegetables and nuts, etc. plus take minerals and vitamins, at least one week before the fast, so your body can heal, plus thanks to this your digestive system will be cleared and no constipation or sickness feeling during the fast.
this way you can, since you are already healthy, fast for up to 2 weeks, ideally longer, to get rid of all major fat reserves on your body.
feeling of hunger goes away after day three, btw, which is correct from personal experience.
after the fast everything will taste different, cause you basically reset your body and mind, so a great time to adopt a new healthy diet and be able to stick to it for life, since healthy stuff will taste good again like when you were a child.
I compiled every major thing I know, I always recommend a doctor visit for blood work and basic health checks, even to healthy persons like you, since a fast is a sensitive thing to get right, good luck!

i mostly only consume water when i use those snris that block appetite, tbh. i agree, it's just hard to stay disciplined
is black coffee (no sugar, milk or other additives) allowed or is it water only?

yeah, after spending half a week not even thinking about food, it feels almost bizarre that i have a problem with controlling myself

coffee and meds are not ideal, but they won't change your body's base fast state, only calories do.
I recommend coffee, but less and less cups after day three, for you personally, the meds you can stop after day four or five, safely.

Interesting, I have a wedding to attend in ~4 months too. I wonder if jumping in front of the bus to miss this shit is the solution

same situation. i'll be sitting at the table with 7 couples and ... me. and i'll be the shortest male in the group, since i live in ogre central, where the manlet cutoff is 6ft2
legit had identical thoughts, hoping something happens to me before it roaming in my subconscious

The only good part about it is the free drinking (really the only thing that made it bearable). Last social event (child's christening/baptism) had free beer serving outside, I've stayed less than 20-30 minutes inside just for the shitty food and the rest were spent rotting in the cold with my equally subhuman father
I want to, but it's hard for me to feel good about the whole thing cause muh insecure subhuman
I wish I didn't have to attend just to keep the family relationshits. I haven't even seen these people in years just let me rot in peace and die
