I wish I could use the very neuter gender “y’all” instead of the polarizing “you guys” but it seems off if someone from here says that

still find it unfathomable that people think "guys" when used this way means "male people"
i got thermonuclear nuked by a trans girl when using that once

so i often resorted to "y'all" in some contexts but i fear it comes across like a "im so quirky linguistic thing" if you don't actually have a southern accent. like these people who start emails with "Hi friends" or say "folx" instead of "folks" or who disable autocapitalization on their phones
