bookism discussion thread: OpenAI's CEO said we need to create "AI licenses" if we ought to allow companies to build and develop AI systems.
he also further added: "small companies shouldnt have these licensing requirements"
what he said sounds ok at face value but in my honest legit opinion this is so fucking horrible.
having a big corporation like Microsoft have most of the world's AI computing power and not allow anyone else to compete? yeah thats just monopolistic crony capitalism right there.
how are they gonna define "small size" and "big size"?
how are they gonna decide when to give out and not give out licenses to companies? based on the amount of bribe? the ethnic background of the company executives? or just outright nepotism?
and what's to say when AI development becomes expensive and inaccessible even for small companies, that they wont use all that power on us to oppress our freedom of speech and even outright take us off of the internet?
we already know that, the internet archive itself is in danger, governments and large corps are removing lots of archives off of the internet. examples:
https://time.com/6266147/internet-archive-copyright-infringement-books-lawsuit/
https://organiser.org/2023/05/12/173647/...cumentary/
imagine this level of censorship with governments and large companies having access to such AI computation power...
so whats to say having LLMs to shut us off completely wont come to fruitation?
fuck sam altman, bill gates, and the fag kikes operating these puppets

Yeah exactly
They started off as a non profit open source company (hence openAI) and suddenly when they created something smart and something powerful they turn for-profit and become a closed company
Beats me dawg

Yeah but the user base and the server power is more with the OpenAI Microsoft gang.
They just want to cutoff others from growing

I've been following this recent development of ChatGPT and ai chatbots in general, and I don't understand retards being mind-blown by the fact that it will categorize every formal, grammatically accurate text (constitutions, religious scripts get mentioned a lot in this context) as "AI generated".
You don't have to have a PhD in computer science to realize why does that happen with a natural language processing tool.
Prompting the chatbot can have funny or interesting outcomes, but that isn't one of them.

yeah. humans will just have more time for the complex, meaningful part of their jobs. instead of having to waste hours on secondary stuff that can now be automated too.
a simple example - instead of having to do a classic search in the database, manually open 150 judicial rulings and skim through all of them to get a couple of those that really fit my case (beyond just containing similar keywords), i can now combine python and plugin powered chatbots to create a more refined searching tool, which leads to increase in research quality while saving me like 80% of the time (which i can now use to actually think and develop novel arguments)

id rather the government keep it under lock and do underground experiments for a hypothetical war that will never happen than let google and apple use it to keep brain washing billions for money
not like it really matters either way though i guess
jews gonna jew
