Rewatching it yesterday, I was shocked that I hadn't already realized that this film is essentially jewish propaganda.

Especially the part where the jews are sympathetic onlookers to Jesus getting crucified, trying to help him but the cartoonishly evil romans hold them back.

I was left scratching my head, finding out that the original book was written by some white american military commander with no connections to the jews. Where does this intent stem from?
