Malaysia has a rotating monarchy, which means the king is not divinity but just a public servant.

In that sense I'm more fascinated with Bolkiah because even Prince Charles bowed to him, while he (al-Bolkiah) replied with nothing.

Eh, it's more of a ceremonial thing. Malaysia was never one nation until the federal states formed the Malaysian federation. "Malaysia" never had a monarchy but the sultans were always the rulers of their own states/territories.
