playing resident evil 7 lately

this game is mid, its technically good but some of the later resident evils just jump the shark with the weirdness stuff. I prefer the general concept of resident evil thats more centered around a corrupt pharmaceutical company and has a plausible "sciencey/evil corporation" feel instead of the borderline occult feel that newer resident evils have. idk, running around some dark house in the bayou and being harassed by insane mutant hillbillies just doesnt cut it for me

to reiterate my point, the game itself is generally good, the mechanics are solid etc (although I would prefer a third person view), but im just not into the overall theme
