One of my favourite ways to troll normies
#1
Refer to light years as a measurement of time 😂

normies like my pet would be like "actually, let me enlighten you on this one..." with smug soyjack face

you are a typical witty-wannabe idiot since light year is derived from velocity of light, which is a vector whose one of two main components is time. it's no more wrong to say that light year is a measurement of time than that a second (and the following units of time) is a measurement of distance since caesium (and, similarly, strontium) clock work by counting the oscillations between two hyperfine states of its split electron triggered by introducing a photon of a specific wavelength to the atom, and we all know the definition of a wavelength

it's a stupid thing to say on a more basic level as well, since you'll have guys like @Honest hear you and immediately assume you are an idiot to fulfill their daily quota of "holy shit, normies are retarded, therefore I'm special" trauma relievers

it's kind of wrong though since a light year is the same in length as a regular year so it make no sense to use it to measure time

ofc

but trying to flex with and signal scientific aptitude when you can only work with entry level concepts is pretty cringe, that was my main point
