It's hilarious that a person who is almost 100% responsible for your food (the cook) won't get it but waiters will.
And here their wages are usually the same but some go home with nothing extra at the end of the shift.

Waiters are also paid here and they are often paid the same as cooks but they still expect a tip. Almost anyone can do that but people who actually are deserving some credits are mostly cooks.
