the pathetic attempt at trying to censor the word 'retard'. now, i have nothing against retards, but going by the clinical definition, someone who is actually retarded (IQ below 70), would be incapable of perceiving the nuances of the insult. ironically, it's just been substituted for 'autist'. and even though 2/3rds of autists are retarded ***actual statistic***, the ones that aren't, are very capable of being offended
the fact that what constitutes autism is extremely vague also plays into this. you can spit out a semi coherent sentence, and all of your 'retard' stigma goes away. where as if you're an autist, you can be the richest man in the world, and people will still attribute things you do they don't like to your 'autism' -- literally saw this the other day; a bunch of 90 IQ autists on reddit trying to analyze elon musk. saying shit like "HMMM I THINK IT'S AUTISM SPRINKLED WITH SOCIOPATHY"
