you cant control what others think of you, so you seek to regain agency by controlling what you think of yourself, but even that is futile when you only face rejection. how utterly brutal

for example: do you think you would you be a good partner if you got the chance with someone you like?. you may think yes or no, but in truth it doest matter what you think. You only find after the fact, which will never happen for some of you

EXAMPLE:
ER became victim to this when his internal world didnt meet outside expectations. He believed himself to be an exotic gem, and a gentleman. That was his self perception which clashed so hard with reality that he went insane because he never had the chance to find out. His identity rigidity was so forced that it became brittle and finally cracked under the immense pressure of eternal rejection. And he became a nonperson with only motives for vengeance and bloodthirsty onslaughts

yeah fair assessment . most social norms involve taking decisive risks which challenge normal peoples identity to change or grow. its how they are aware what theyre worthy of, or capable of

anyone who believes themselves worthy of a partner but never had one especially beyond 20 is hence entirely wrong to assume so. their expectations never line up with reality because their so called identity isnt congruent with the real thing
