Legit insane how these days you can get a laptop with a capable GPU, power-efficient processor, slim form factor and a nice screen for just ~900 USD +-
Now with MUX and next level power management, you have x86 processors pushing battery life to the hours with respectable performance
A lot of people praise the old ThinkPads to be the peak of laptops but in comparison they were really not all that. Good alternative software and modding support + le aesthetic, that's 'bout it
Modern laptops are beasts in terms of portability and ease of use. MacBooks are in a completely different league of course, wild stuff

I play Minecraft and I like having a built in high refresh rate monitor so I tend to get like a standard entry level gaming laptop
I'd say 600 to 999 is fair though, for something one could use for work and last for ~5 years
