being loud is a vulnerability, it means u are in need of attention
being the opposite of loud makes people think ure assuming a superior role to them, it drives them mad and curious

ah yeah thats obv a failo/defect of the person
its pretty situational, there are situations that u need to be heard, so u gotta be loud. but in ordinary social situations, being loud means u want to be heard, being quieter makes people want to hear u, its a means of controlling the situation. one gives, the other takes

its something we observe in others
in my immediate family my uncle is the biggest chad, he always spoke in a very calm and quieter manner, he commands people very well. meanwhile my father is louder and he does not command people at all, his extroversion come across as goofy due to that. funnily enough hes probably that way because my grandfather had a preference of my uncle over him. one always had attention so he does not need it, the other is in a constant void trying to get the attention that his father giveth him not

Stop the whining. Your mother was right.

You gotta talk loud and assertive. I'm known for talking loudly, perhaps too loud.

Maybe if you're Noam Chomsky and everybody wants to listen to your genius thoughts, you can afford to talk in a very quiet voice.

The fact that it provokes a strong dislike is proof of the shadow. Anything that creates this strong irritation is a repressed admiration and desire.
