Ego-depletion theory of self-control.

Heard a podcast on this.

Basically the more decisions we make which require us to exercise WILLPOWER, the less WILLPOWER we will have later on.

Example:

You eat a healthy breakfast and lunch, and even resist the sweet snacks that a co-worker brings into the office during your mid-afternoon break. Because you have expended so much mental energy throughout the day resisting the urge to indulge, you have reached a state of ego depletion by dinner time.

I think the solution to this is limiting our exposure to bad habits (others eating bad food, doing drugs, etc.)

Anyone have any thoughts on this phenomenon?

just lol at eating 'healthy breakfast' taking up willpower.

healthy breakfast only takes willpower if said healthy breakfast consists of complete shit

how about eggs, meat, dairy? literally the most appetising things ever

I'd imagine that you can strengthen willpower with regular use
