yeah, maybe people don’t want a bunch of fucking pests surrounding their house? maybe that’s the entire point? maybe people want a place to play catch with their kids without getting raped by ticks, snakes, and other nasty things? maybe those creatures have, i don’t know, the rest of the entire fucking world to live in?

Lawns are kind of stupid though. What purpose do they even serve? They should just be converted to gardens or small crop and pasture land for grazing or something if it's big enough. I live with my parents so I have no say, but if it were up to me I'd just salt the lawn then put rocks or concrete over it. No more lawn care to worry about. Plus extra useable space

Lawns are meant you represent the countryside which served as buffers between neighbors in the old days. But due to limited apace allotment they are shrunken down to a patch of grass.The answer is regulating the reproduction o the underclasses to avoid over population

it’s the most convenient surface for outdoor activities: soft, barefoot friendly, good temperature regulation, fire safe, relatively erosion proof.
it’s way more flexible than anything else
and yes, maybe part of it is a status symbol that you aren’t a bum and have some level of pride in maintaining your property. useful for judging what kind of neighborhood you want to live in

No one uses lawns they might as well not exist. Whether you like it or not lawns are going have to go inevitably because of population density increase lack of demand. They mainly exist now as a form of welfare for illegal immigrants.
