The only thing I truly value the internet for is direct communication, be it e-mail or this forum.
But it has consumed me and I have spent the past 10 years mostly browsing nonsense.
I wish there was some other way, like in the old times where they had to use bulletin board systems, to completely override all the distractions.

Like most of the time I open reddit twitter 4chan etc and I read something that creates a question in my mind and I go down a rabbithole opening 30 tabs and researching stuff that have completely no meaning, most of the time forgetting what my initial curiosity was about. Yeah, it's a complete mindrape. I'm not even sure adhd is to blame, I think my brain never matured.

but i guess they make these other platforms rly addictive and hard to navigate on purpose but i miss old hobby forums/blogs where if people wnated to share their ideas they made a rly unique and aesthetic wordpress or smthing not clickbatey tiktok
