why does water mog food - mogs_me - 29-03-2026

whenever i drink a glass of cold water im immensely grateful for my access to it
whenever i drink food, even good food, I enjoy it, but don't feel the same gratitude
is it just that a fatass like me gets thirsty more often than hungry? is it just that water is technically more "critical" in that we can't go as long without it as we can food?
quenching thirst just feels way better than satiating hunger

Perhaps – and I say perhaps – it’s because water makes up more than half of our body weight? A forum full of idiots, but I’m not surprised

Blood (which contains a lot of water), for example, carries oxygen to the cells (though it’s more complex than that)
Water is needed to digest food, for thermoregulation and other things

What’s more, food contains water, so…

Osmoreceptors detect a lack of water and trigger thirst, which is nothing more than a rapid survival response
