Empathy DECREASES when you've had a similar experience to someone - Dreckssau - 06-03-2026

So, a beautiful person will have more empathy for an ugly person than someone who is also ugly.

Some study on it was published by a guy called 'Israel'.

That's why when you're depressed, the worst thing you can do is 'get help' from a person, who is also depressed.

Vsknin explains it somewhere in the first hour of this video.

Well, hanging around with losers and sick people can benefit you, if your goal is to grow in sickness and be more comfortable in it.This forum is bad for everyone, cause many here share a similar type of sickness.

I intuitively understood it, when I was in a psychiatric hospital and rarely interacted with the other patients, only the staff.

But I still act contrary to what I know.

i understand, but wouldn't growing more comfortable first be beneficial if i intend to go a different path later on?

I don't think so. Cause, let's say you are fat. Meeting a fat person, who seems confident would be worse for you, if your goal is to lose weight. You'll be hypnotized into thinking fat is acceptable. If you are fit and meet a fitness freak, you will at first feel like shit in comparison, but you'll ultimately be more motivated to change.

You absorb the energy of people you meet. That's why rich guys wanna hang with rich guys, smart guys with smart guys, athletic winners with athletic winners.

well if i was rich and i met another rich guy, wouldnt i wanna avoid befriending him in case he tries to snake me in a business deal?

i think i could get rich but im undecided on if thats what i want. im worried about someone trying to stop me before i even decide though

You're still a valuable human being to me, cause your brain compensates.
