For example, 'just be yourself'.
I can't think of anything that would cause a person more problems than fighting against your own nature, fighting against yourself.

I posted this supposed Henry Kissinger quote in 2016. "Accept everything about yourself" and some user replied: "That's actually true." I wondered whether the user was trolling, because this level of self acceptance was literally incomprehensible to me.

The better advice than 'Just be yourself' is 'Interpret everything about yourself in the way that is most favorable'.
Though the interpretation can also not be a total lie, cause you'd be seen as delusional.
For example, if you are ugly as fuck, you cannot say "The reason I'm treated badly is that I'm too handsome."
Better to say: "I'm ugly, but some people will like me for that."

Jfl, in their language this means “I’m hardly ever authentic, but I will advise others to be so.”
It's almost the equivalent of a porn star advising you to abstain from sex, the difference is that the porn star is perhaps more aware of it

I think it does not refer to behavior, but an inner state of mind, that becomes reflected in one's behavior. If I deep down know and accept my fate, then I will have an aura of confidence. That's why even the guy from prison or the junkie can be attractive.
Normies don't understand their own advice. They accept it and it becomes part of their subconscious.
