I used to think this but the only actually interesting jobs in the job market (besides being CEO of your own company) are PhD required jobs where you do academic research but in industry and get paid well for it. Go look at the interesting jobs at nVidia or Anthropic, they all require PhDs or people who dropped out of PhDs and have relevant research
