tbh communication advice in relationships is a joke - mogs_me - 12-12-2025
a lot of times people will give relationship advice that anyone who has some gripe with their partner should just communicate it, because “they can’t read your mind” or something like that
this is usually advice given to women
and then the women reply something like i don’t want to have to tell you what i want, i want you to know and do it without me asking
to me this seems pretty reasonable tbh
if you know a person well and are actually trying in your relationship you shouldn’t need to communicate to act properly, you should just be able to figure out what to do
having to ask for something does indeed make it less special, as it shows the other person either a.) does not know you that well or b.) simply doesn’t care
of course there are some exceptions for tiny niche issues, but usually for the bigger issues i’d say this is true
none of this was related to any of my experiences personally just something i thought of probably from a r/relationshipadvice thread or something

it's because women often date good-looking narcissists, so communication is the only way to make this bearable (e.g., "please don't throw beer cans at my head, it makes me feel upset")
