Why is objectifying people considered a bad thing? - MysteriousWeeb420 - 13-04-2022

What is wrong with objects? People are only offended by it because they think they are superior to objects which is quite frankly disgusting. Just because something lies below you on the sentience spectrum does not mean you are better than it

RE: Why is objectifying people considered a bad thing? - Alexander - 13-04-2022

ok lets pretend 50% of people are fine to be called objects and 50% of people are unhappy to be called objects and would prefer to be seen as above objects

which group do you think will receive better treatment (assuming looks etc. are same)?
if you're fine being called an object then expect to be treated like one i.e like trash.

this isn't an objective world. its full of trickery and deceits so that people can gain the upper hand

an object is considered as having less moral value than human. to label a human with such a name implies that they are of lower moral value. like calling a human an animal. or calling a human a 'clump of atoms' and so on.  it is dehumanising to call someone by something that is of lower moral value. it ignores their humanity

so wud u suggest humanizing objects or objectifying humans. It probably don't make any difference if you look at things macroscopically.
