people that use such words are trying to judge others while often being completely blank/devoid of differentiated persona themselves
i call that 'forcing negative egalitarianism' done so not by concrete measure and observation but 'equalizing judgment'
foids do this a lot, if you show adriana lima to one and ask for her opinion on her, she is likely to say "shes not all that" - the implication that they do when they judge her as so is by that her not being all that is that she must be as much or as close of "that" that they are - were the implication to not be that, they would do a blunt negative comment, and not merely try to bring "her closer" to their self-perceived level

also there is an even funnier version of that, it is when there is equalizing judgement between the foid and the one that is causing her to seethe but put before to a "third contrast" that is an even more subjective idealization aka this one is a pinnacle that **I** hold as truly unattainable and not reachable by me, and so as you can see the other isnt all that for "shes just as me" before this personal idol of mine
