your 30s fly by, at least mine have so far. I totally understand why people have mid-life crises now, heres what really sucks about getting old, its not about you yourself getting older (I feel pretty much the same as I always have) rather its about the fact that everyone you know is getting older and living different kinds of lives.
as you get older you have to deal with the unsettling realization that people you care about are going to die someday, when youre younger its easier to not think about this and just assume that people you care about will always be around, but thats not actually true
another thing is lost opportunities. I have numerous girls that ive talked to on and off for years and years, even many marriage proposals. the thing is, when I was younger it was gratifying to know that in the back of my mind, I had marriage options, but as the years have gone by these women have ended up getting married or they just ceased contact altogether and I have no way of contacting them anymore, so its like as I get older im becoming acutely aware of all these missed opportunities which im no longer able to go back in time and fulfill. the door has definitely shut on these potential relationships, I will never know the life I could have had with X, Y or Z girl
