i d get it if it was guys making (or at least fucking trying to make) funny gif-worthy expressions when watching something, but they arent
in 99% of cases, it's just some ugly nobody in his mom's basement recording his face while playing some content, and the face isn't even following what's going on in the video. they are just recording ... themselves sitting there and looking at the screen. most of the time it looks like the video of themselves isn't even about them watching the content, but a random short clip they recorded separately

you missed the point entirely, butthurt incel. it's cringe exactly because there's 0 articulation of ... anything in those videos. those guys arent conveying anything with random clips of their ugly faces, let alone how anyone should feel about the content they are "reacting" to. and this stated pretty clearly in the op

prolly be the first things that take hold in a planet of the apes type scenario where reading expressions and gauging sentiments would prolly have inordinately high survival value, but yeah its just weird now. Half the times Im too concentrated on a slop reel that sometimes pops up that I dont notice the black guy whos taking up half the screen below jfl

a lot of people just use it to make money piggybacking off of popular content. sometimes the reactions are completely canned and pre recorded.
