Like old video games in excellent condition, etc. And items that sell on a daily basis for at least $500.
On eBay.
I settle the score by checking out their page, and then offering them $1.09 for items they have listed at $600. "Please, I'm a mother of 4, my children have a deadbeat father and I really want this item for my daughter, it's her birthday soon and I'm on a tight budget. Willing to go up a little (maybe to $1.20) but please don't overdo it." I litter their page with bogus offers and messages like these to waste their time and spam their inbox.
