back when the west was average 120 iq, we had torture and other forms of deterrence, criminality was highly selected against, and many violent criminals were ethnically cleansed
in singapore, japan, taiwan, and most of the 110+ iq countries, and china, capital punishment isn't banned. in singapore hanging is mandatory for trafficking drugs of a certain quantity and there is no possible reprieve.
in light of advanced forensic technology and dna, the last logical argument against capital punishment is gone. now the only argument that remains is emotional/theological.
