The only acceptable way I believe this world can be redeemed - n9wiff - 16-02-2025
The current rapidly accelerating AI arms race leads to the development of a runaway, benevolent, recursively self-improving, artificial super intelligence that proceeds to:
1. Ensure that negative suffering qualia is made forevermore categorically impossible throughout all of existence (bonus points if it can discover a way to go back in time and prevent all the untold trillions of suffering beings from experiencing it as well)
2. A universally accessible, painless, instant, permanent, no-questions asked right to die mechanism made instantly available to all sentient life. This, paired with the abolition of suffering, is a sufficient compensation for the consent violation of bringing a new life into existence
The above two items are the most important. Personally and ideally, I’d also like to see the implementation of things such as:
- David Pearce’s Hedonistic Imperative
- FALGSC
- Morphological Freedom
- Mind uploading
- Reversal of entropy
- Transhumanism / post humanism for all who want it
- The abolition of suffering for wild animals as well
- An exploration of something even more radical like converting all matter in the universe into computronium / hedonium
I believe this to be a superior alternative to a benevolent world exploder, because ultimately, the universe itself is the fundamental core cause of suffering - and therefore must be dealt with once and for all. Now that we as a species are aware of the terrible reality we inhabit, we have a moral obligation to seize the opportunity to do something about it to prevent future suffering
