Why aren't more people out in nature considering the internet is worthless? - towncel - 15-02-2025

There is literally nothing I can do on my PC. Think about that. After your video game session is done you're free to waste time on complete dogshit but why?

I get if you're MVP that you're going to waste time reading wikipedia but the vast majority aren't dulled-up to the point of not realizing how boring that is.

no prefix or icon for this thread too bored to do that

People who's intelligence levels are too low to use their PC such as kath can certainly relate, although they are too physically unfit to even go out so they aren't counted in this conversation.

the outdoors gets boring too. nothing to do beyond a certain point. stare at enough streams, walk enough trails, build a little place with wood, climb the highest hill. it's not as glamorous as people would like to believe (obviously better than spending it on the internet). I had a period in my life, where I went solo backpacking for months and the chronic boredom eventually took a toll on me. and I'm naturally an introverted person + my arrogance and ego made me believe I can live a completely solitary life.

I resonate with Christopher mccandless when he says "happiness is only real when shared," and he was a prolific nomad and adventurer. moments with others. end of day, you need to seek companionship in some way,, problem is I can't form a genuine, emotional connection with anyone.
